In 1985, Bruce Springsteen scored a top 10 hit with a baseball inspired
anthem called "Glory Days". Ten years later in 1995, the Seattle Mariners
experienced the first of their glory days when they overcame a 13-game lead to win their
division and reach the playoffs for the first time. Now, ten years since that magical
"Refuse to Lose" season, the Mariners set sail for new glory days with new skipper
Mike Hargrove at the helm. For the first time in history, Mariner brass opened their
wallets this offseason and brought respectability back to the offense by signing two big
name free agents: Richie Sexson and Adrian Beltre. Pitching is now the question mark,
but I firmly believe that this year's crew will be competitive and an exciting season of
baseball is on the horizon for Safeco Field.
As in years past, I've purchased "season" tickets for 12 games
from my friend Marc. Most of them are up for grabs, so please let me know if you'd like to
take in a game with me. Believe it or not, finding people to go is sometimes pretty tough.
I've amended the calendar to make it as easy as possible to request a game; simply click on
any available game and a new email message already addressed to me should open. I love the
experience of being at the ballpark and it means a lot to me to be able to share it with
other fans!
I expect a few things from my guests: (1) root for the Mariners (unless
you can prove you're a long time fan of the opposing team), (2) plan to stay for the
entire game (I will let you know at the game whether or not I'm willing to concede defeat),
and (3) agree to have your picture taken with me to be posted on this site. I'm always
open to creative photo suggestions and offers to write the postgame wrap-up.
MY FINAL RECORD: 11-4
If by chance you find yourself down at the Safe on a day that I've got tickets,
please stop by and say "hi". I'll be in my usual place... a few rows back from the
field and just on the outfield side of third base.

This site is constantly being updated, so please check back every so often to
see how the reglorification of the Seattle Mariners is progressing.
